Sometimes you just need a slice!
Pizza is something we take VERY seriously at Cal Coast Food Tours. Even though sometimes a mediocre pizza still hits the spot, these places are sure to satisfy your pizza cravings.
1. Slice Pizza & Beer
If you want a relaxed vibe with quality ingredients, Slice is a must. Their dough is made with flour from one of Italy’s oldest mills and given a multi- day fermentation, which brings out a richer flavor and lighter texture. The red sauce uses Bianco diNapoli tomatoes, and their cheeses are sourced from Wisconsin’s Grande, made fresh every day. You can build your own pie, or go with one of their signature pizzas. Bonus points if you're looking to pair your slice with good beer—self-serve taps add a fun element to your meal. Slice is also on our Laguna Beach food tour every day!
2. Neapolitan Pizzeria + Birreria
A go-to for authentic Neapolitan style pies. They bring the traditional techniques—thin, bubbly crusts, high-quality tomatoes, fresh mozzarella—and pair them with local flair. Their South Laguna location gives you a more laid-back setting, and the patio is perfect when the weather is nice.
3. Gina’s Pizza
This one has roots: Gina’s was founded in 1975 by Sicilian-immigrant Gina Costa, and the family still runs it with a mix of tradition and community love. They offer a wide range, from smaller pies (“Piccolo”) up to huge ones (“Biggapie”) that’ll feed a crowd. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the “Godfather”—loaded with multiple meats—or go lighter with their veggie or vegan options.
4. Wine Gallery WoodFire Kitchen & Wine Bar
This place does more than just pizza, but their wood-fired pies are a highlight. The pairing with wine is excellent (unsurprisingly), and the ambiance is cozy enough for date night but casual enough for a family meal. If you love that char from wood-fired ovens, this should be on your list.
5. Pizza Bar Laguna
Close to the beach and with a lively atmosphere, Pizza Bar Laguna is great when you want good pizza and people watching. They’ve got your standards—cheesy classics, big pies—and they don’t skimp on the sides. It’s a solid spot for evening pizza, especially if you’re out enjoying the sunset and need something casual and satisfying.
